Quartz Worktops
The stone offers stain, scratch, and heat resistance qualities unrivalled by the more commonly available granite surfaces. Being high on the Mohs scale of hardness (7), and having an absorption rate of less than 0.06%, stunning results can be achieved without forfeiting practicality.
Manufactured using intense pressure, heat and vacuum, the sheets are finally polished to provide a high gloss finish. The majority of engineered stone consist of 93% quartz, 7% polymers and inorganic pigments, which help provide the binding and colours that are required.
Due to the process of manufacturing engineered stones, materials that in the past have been surplus to requirements can now be transformed into stunning solid surfaces.
